New Nepali Movie ‘Jante Bakhro’ Uses Unique Promotion

Kathmandu – The upcoming Nepali movie ‘Jante Bakhro (जन्ते बाख्रो)‘, releasing in theaters nationwide on Friday, June 6, 2025 is creating buzz with its creative and traditional approach to promotions.

Instead of the usual advertising, the film’s team first caught attention by placing posters on small public vehicles in major cities. On Saturday, they went a step further by holding a lively event at City Square Mall in Kathmandu.

Actress Garima Sharma arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, dressed as a bride, escorted from Samakhusi in a wedding-style parade. The event featured traditional panche baja music and young men wearing t-shirts with the movie’s logo, carrying a goat-head cutout, adding to the festive vibe.

Popular singers Babul Giri, Mahesh Kafle, and Asmita Adhikari performed songs from the film, including ‘Ghamai Raja’, Angurko Jhuppo, and Muku Muku Mya, entertaining the crowd.

The event was attended by lead actors Asif Shah, Garima Sharma, Vishal Pahari, Kamal Devkota, Lokendra Lekhak, and Samapika Gautam, as well as director Simor Sunuwar, writer Pradeep Bhardwaj, and producer Santosh Gautam.

Director Sunuwar shared that such interactive promotions help the audience feel more connected to the movie.

New Nepali movie ‘Jante Bakhro‘ highlights rural traditions, including the old custom of serving wedding meals on leaf plates and bowls while seated on the ground. The filmmakers hope the movie will both entertain and educate younger viewers about Nepali culture.

The film, produced by Santosh Gautam under Muin Entertainment and distributed by Tiphalk Films, has already gained positive attention online for its songs and trailer. G2 One Digital holds the digital rights.
