With the uncertainty surrounding its release in Nepal, the Nepali film ‘MAHABHOJ’ is now scheduled to premiere in Australia.
The premiere event will take place on Saturday, June 1, at the Galleria Event Cinemas in Perth. The event is being organized by Roteping Entertainment.
Although the film was initially planned for a June 15 release in Nepal to coincide with Republic Day of Nepal, its screening was postponed at the last moment due to royalist movements.
The film’s lead actors and director will not be attending the Australian premiere but will participate in screenings scheduled in other cities in the coming days.
Directed by Dinesh Raut, ‘MAHABHOJ’ portrays the struggles of a family victimized by cooperative fraud and explores its broader societal impact.
The movie features performances by Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Anjana Baraili, Malika Mahat, Gaumaya Gurung, Basundhara Bhusal, and Mohan Niroula.
