Radhika Shakya
Bhaktapur – Radhika Shakya, the wife of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has said that neither she nor the Prime Minister will flee the country, stressing that they are committed to staying and serving Nepal.
Her statement came in response to recent remarks by Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden, who had warned politicians to ‘be ready to escape by helicopter.’ In reply, Shakya said, ‘As long as there is a drop of blood in our bodies, we will continue to fight for the nation.’
She added that they have not stored wealth in any foreign country and have no plans to leave. ‘We have dedicated our entire strength to this country and we will continue to do so,’ she said.
Shakya made the comments during the launch of a book titled ‘मध्यपुरथिमिमा जेसुम’ on Sunday in Madhyapur Thimi. She encouraged people to recognize the improvements made in sectors like education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure since the arrival of democracy.
‘For those who say nothing has changed, I invite them to travel the country and read the development reports. It’s not true that there has been no progress,’ she said.
Shakya also urged citizens to stop protesting and instead help build the country in whatever way they can. The book launch was organized by Samriddha Madhyapur Samaj Nepal at a local karate academy.
